African Poultry Leadership Conference 2026: Strengthening Connections

In July 2026, SASSO and Hendrix Genetics’ Layers business unit welcomed over 70 poultry professionals. They came from across Africa to Nairobi, Kenya, for our African Poultry Leadership Conference. The two-day event brought together customers, industry experts, and partners. They shared knowledge, discussed industry opportunities, and strengthened relationships across Africa’s poultry value chain.

A platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration

The African poultry industry continues to play a vital role in improving food security, nutrition, and livelihoods across the continent. Against this backdrop, the conference provided a unique opportunity for poultry leaders to share experiences, discuss challenges, and explore new opportunities for sustainable growth, in warm and fun atmosphere.

The program combined plenary sessions, technical presentations, interactive workshops, and networking activities designed to encourage open dialogue and practical learning. Participants explored topics including global poultry market outlooks, genetic progress and research, poultry nutrition, dual-purpose poultry development, and poultry health management.

One of the highlights of the event was the interaction between SASSO traditional poultry customers and laying hen producers. Bringing together professionals from different poultry segments encouraged valuable discussions, fresh perspectives, and practical knowledge exchange. The combination of formal presentations and informal conversations created many opportunities for participants to learn from one another and build stronger business connections.

Celebrating customer success

Beyond knowledge sharing, the conference was also an opportunity to recognize the commitment and achievements of our customers. During the event, we presented customer awards to celebrate excellence in areas such as market visibility, loyalty, and contributions to the growth of Hendrix Genetics. These recognitions highlighted the important role our customers play in advancing poultry production across Africa.

The enthusiasm and openness demonstrated throughout the conference reflected the ambition and entrepreneurial spirit that continue to drive the African poultry sector forward. Participants actively engaged in discussions, workshops, and networking activities, contributing to a highly collaborative atmosphere.

We would like to thank all participants, speakers, customers, and sponsors who contributed to the success of this event. Their support created an environment where people shared ideas, strengthened partnerships, and identified new opportunities for the future of poultry production in Africa.

Together, we are helping build a more sustainable, productive, and resilient poultry industry that can support growing demand for high-quality poultry products throughout the continent.

Looking ahead

As demand for efficient, robust, and adaptable poultry genetics continues to grow across Africa, SASSO remains committed to supporting poultry professionals with innovative breeding solutions, technical expertise, and strong partnerships. The conversations and insights shared in Nairobi will help shape future initiatives aimed at supporting the long-term development of the African poultry industry.
